PANELS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
(taken from the FPTA Bylaws)
Board panels defined in FPTA bylaws are: Executive; Finance; Membership; Reimbursement;
Legislative and Practice.
Panel Coordinators are appointed by the President and shall be responsible
for the various committees, interests, and concerns assigned to that Panel,
including communication with its components and accountability for component
activity.
Coordinators may chair a committee and serve as ex-officio members of Panel
assigned committees and task forces. Coordinators shall instruct committees,
task forces, liaisons, etc. regarding specific charges, report schedules, and
responsibilities for budget. Coordinators shall maintain communications with
all committees, task forces, liaisons, on a regular basis.
There shall be Board panels composed of members of the Board as assigned by
the President, to serve on the panels for a one-year term. The elected Treasurer
shall serve as the Coordinator of the Panel on Finance. The President shall
serve as ex-officio member of all panels. The Board panels shall be responsible
for identifying needs in their areas of interest, as outlined in the Chapter
Policy and Procedure Manual.
The Panel on Finance shall:
Consist of members of the Board as assigned by the Chapter President, one of
whom shall be the elected Treasurer; Advise the Board as to expenditures, investments
of funds, and present an annual budget to the Chapter Board of Directors; and,
Be involved in the areas of budget, investment, financial planning, scholarship,
student loan programs, fees, and compensation.
The Panel on Membership Services shall:
Consist of members of the Board as assigned by the Chapter President and, be
involved in areas of program, continuing education, recruitment, education of
supportive personnel, history, research, and serve as liaison with student and
educational groups.
The Panel on Legislation shall:
Consist of members of the Board assigned by the Chapter President; Be involved
in the areas of Physical Therapy Practice Act, state and federal legislation,
and shall serve as liaison with the (State) Board of Physical Therapy and the
Florida Physical Therapy Political Action Committee.
The Panel on Professional Practice shall:
Consist of members of the Board assigned by the Chapter President and, be involved
in the areas of standards of practice of physical therapy, peer review, quality
assurance, personnel policies, socioeconomic conditions, utilization review,
practice parameters and outcomes assessment, and serve as liaison with the Special
Interest Groups.
The Panel on Reimbursement shall:
Consist of members of the Board assigned by the Chapter President and, be involved
in the areas of worker’s compensation, Medicare, Medicaid and all third
party insurance, and serves as liaison to the Board of Directors.
