The Florida Physical Therapy Association is committed to providing
education and services to its members in order to advance excellence and quality
in the profession of physical therapy. A Board of Directors that is composed
of volunteer, active members governs it. Several panels were created to address
the needs and concerns of the members. One of these, The Panel on Membership,
was created in the FPTA Bylaws, Article VIII, Section
1, B. It’s function is to be involved in areas of program, continuing
education, recruitment, education of supportive personnel, history, research,
and serve as a liaison with student and educational groups. A member(s) of the
FPTA Board of Directors chairs each Panel.

The Florida Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association is one the
largest and most proactive chapters in the nation. The FPTA is recognized by
the APTA as an achievements-based chapter. We have consistently received awards
in categories including fiscal responsibility, publications, public relations,
leadership and minority enhancement.
The FPTA membership includes nearly 3500 of the nearly 13, 000 licensed physical
therapists, physical therapist assistants and students from the State of Florida.
These members come from a variety of educational and cultural backgrounds and
