LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE - FPTA
Committee Members – Ellen O’Bannon, Chairperson
Mark Stoff, Paul Hughes, Tracey Estok, Ken Jacobs, Sheila Nicholoson, Cheryl
Kirton.
The legislative committee represents the members of the Florida Physical Therapy
Association in legislative activities that affect the profession. The committee
is guided by the “legislative Platform” that is approved each year
by the Assembly of Representatives. The Committee functions include introduction
of bills in the legislature, monitoring and reviewing legislative activities
that affect our profession. The committee also serves to educate members regarding
the importance of involvement in our state legislative process. The Committee
has created resources to educate FPTA members with the legislative process and
how to become involved in shaping our profession.
The committee is in regular communication with lobbyists Martha Edenfield and
Gene Adams. They meet as needed to coordinate committee activities and goals.
Any FPTA member is encouraged to participate with the legislative committee
and/or its programs.
