Acute Care / Hospital Special Interest Group
The acute care / hospital special interest group meets at the Annual Meeting
of the Assembly of Representatives. This SIG functions to allow for a discussion
of issues and brainstorming of solutions unique to directors of therapy departments,
therapists and therapist assistants functioning in acute care and rehab hospitals.
Another function of this SIG is to allow for students to have their questions
answered regarding practice in a hospital setting. At the present time, there
is no formal structure to the group. There are no dues to attend. This group
was formed to counter the perception that the FPTA only served the needs of
those in private practice. The impact that it will have upon the direction of
the association is entirely dependent upon those clinicians who chose to attend
and participate.
Sharon Dobbin is the current liason to the Acute Care / Hospital Special Interest
Group. If you have issues you would like to see addressed or questions you would
like answered she can be reached via email at SKAR4160@cs.com.
Please mark the subject as acute care / hospital SIG to facilitate it being
reviewed in a timely manner.
